The Grace Project

We are working on a project that is very dear to our hearts.  Please take 4 minutes to watch the video and scroll down for more details.

If you didn't watch the video...

As you know from previous posts, we have started an after school program for our high school students called T.G.I.F Club.  This is a place where the kids can come hang out and hear the word of God.  The central idea of the “talks” is grace. We are introducing them to the man of Jesus and explaining to them who he is, why he is vital in life, and how he can offer a life of security and fulfillment.  We also want to have a group of people who will be actively participating in their life and encouraging them as they embark on this new adventure that God is about to take them on.

You have already provided so much support to us, but we are hoping you can help us illustrate this idea of grace.  We are hoping you can send us a care package full of small gifts (nothing major), a picture of yourself (or family or small group), a note of encouragement, and way to contact you.  Once we receive your care package we are going to add a bible to it and give it to the students at Kosrae High School.  The package will symbolize grace because it is a free gift that the student did absolutely nothing to deserve, and all we hope the student will do is accept the gift and begin a relationship with the person giving the gift.  The reason why we want you to include a picture, note, and contact information is because we hope you and the student can start a relationship.  We believe God is going to work in powerful ways, whether that be now or later, but we want the student to feel that same biblical support that we have felt over the years. Whether the student accepts the gospel or not, he/she is going to need your support, encouragement, and prayers.  As we all know, biblical community is vital in everyone's life.

We are hoping to give a little piece of grace to 240 students at Kosrae High School.  Each package that you send is going to be divided into 3, so we are aiming to have 80 packages sent to Kosrae by December 15, 2011.  Luckily, Kosrae uses the U.S. Postal System, so sending packages is easy and inexpensive.  You can send the package in a Priority Flat Rate box.  There are different sized boxes ranging from $10.95 - $14.95.

Please mail the package to:

“No, we neither make nor save ourselves.  God does both the making and saving.  He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.”  - Ephesians 2:10 (The Message)
